We had a productive session covering factoring polynomials. Since the student had a good understanding of this, we moved on to discussing Romeo and Juliet, since he had a quiz the following day.

The student and I went over his math materials so far as well as in his other subjects. We discussed attitudes and expectations towards his subjects and teachers. It seems that he is doing review in math, and will start to learn algebra.

During this session, geometry proofs were reviewed for the upcoming quiz and the later test by going over various homework, review sheets, and PowerPoint/online slides problems.

The student and I reviewed some stoichiometry and then ventured into solving specific heat problems both involving and not involving phase changes. We also solved one bomb calorimetry and one coffee cup calorimetry problems. She appeared to be picking up the concepts very well, and understands the material a lot better. I encouraged her to review the practice quiz we went over during our session.

Worked on drawing Pythagorean triangles based on trigonometric identities (i.e. sin(x) = 4/5) in order to solve trig problems. Also studied the sheet of trigonometric identities, including the half-angle formulas, double angle formulas, Pythagorean identities, etc.
