Tutoring review by Anton in Bloomington, MN
The student and I worked on the following topics: solving for coordinates when given the slope and parts of two points on a line, identifying the slope when given a linear equation in slope-intercept form, graphing lines when given a point and the slope, and determining the slopes of parallel/perpendicular lines. He has a full understanding of the problems, but I would caution him to consistently pay attention to the smaller details of the problems so as to not make arithmetic mistakes.

We covered Similar Solids and Scale Factors. The student struggled with some algebra and with making connections between some concepts. The student was too hard on herself when she made a mistake or didn't know something right away. I shared some tips on how to work problems in pi form," without multiplying out all the pis to make the math easier. She definitely learned pretty quickly once it was presented to her clearly and concisely.

The student had a review that she had already tried to complete on her own. I helped her answer the questions she didn't understand. Most of them involved quadratic expressions in some way. She seemed more confident than she was at first. Some of the questions she asked were just for me to check if her work was correct.

Student 1 and I worked on her schoolwork today, specifically on math and language arts. She's still learning the difference between action and being verbs, but it's coming along. We then did a bit of explorative math work, which I believe helps her more than just giving her the answer. We're working on making connections between the equation and the answer. Student 2 and I worked with math as well. She's doing really well with her simple addition and subtraction. I feel she's ready to move on to simple double-digit addition and subtraction. Good job to both girls!!

Tutoring review by Charu in Bloomington, MN
Today the student and I went over solving trigonometric equations. She was having a lot of difficulty in the beginning, but once I showed her a system for how to solve these types of equations, she began to understand them and solve them very quickly.
