Tutoring review by Jessica in Palmyra, NJ
In this session we worked through a review packet for the student's final exam. She was able to recall the majority of the information once one problem that was similar was completed. She has some issues when it comes to dealing with variable equations in triangles. She also did not have any recollection of doing parallelograms at all during class, so this concept needed to be retaught, but she caught on to it fairly quickly. She seems to be doing well and is working hard at understanding the concepts. For the next packet, she is to attempt the packet on her own by looking through her notes prior to the next session.

Tutoring review by Nicole in Palmyra, NJ
For this session, we practiced various math equations including using order of operations, fractions, and decimals. We went onto a website and took a timed multiplication quiz. The student scored 100% in 2:50. I have asked him to go to this website and practice his multiplication with the games and timed tests daily for at least 15 min per day. I would like him to take the timed test at least 1 time per day and write down his score. His goal is to try to beat his last score each time he takes the test. We also read about memoirs and discussed their purpose. I asked him to write a new essay about his grandma rather than add to his previous essay. I would like him to write 3 paragraphs about grandma for our session on Sunday.

Tutoring review by Dorothy in Palmyra, NJ
Today I helped the student work on supplementary and complementary angles and triangles. She had quite a bit of homework, so we reviewed that most of the time. I had also brought a worksheet on reading in word problems, because she said she struggled some with knowing how to set up an equation from word problem information.

Tutoring review by Priyanka in Palmyra, NJ
The student had homework in chapter 3. I reviewed some topics she hasn't covered in class yet ( finding patterns in arithmetic sequence) since I'll not see her before her test. She seems to understand the concepts well. I also left practice questions for her to do before the test.

Tutoring review by Miguel in Palmyra, NJ
We further discussed recursion, structs, arrays, loops, and file handling. I explained the difference between a function that uses direct recursion versus one that uses indirect recursion. The student was having trouble understanding the concept of having an array made out of a struct type. I explained this in detail to him and he seems to understand how it works now.

Tutoring review by CORINNE DEKKERS in Palmyra, NJ
We focused on the ins and outs of slope-intercept form (including graphing, solving, and writing linear equations), and made some flashcards to help the student remember each part of the equation. We also made flashcards for remembering when numbers are positive or negative (using S.A.D.S. for addition and subtraction, and Integer Person for multiplication and division).
