Laura: Batavia tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a recent graduate of Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science from Georgia Tech. Teaching is something that I have always enjoyed. It helps reinforce the subject knowledge for myself, while also helping other people. Throughout the years, I have tutored - formally and informally - students of all ages and backgrounds and I feel comfortable helping others fully understand important concepts that they may struggle with.

What is your teaching philosophy?
My philosophy for teaching is making the student become the teacher. The biggest test to being knowledgeable on a subject is having the ability to teach it to someone else.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I try to get a sense of their biggest problem areas by asking general questions. I use this for later sessions to make sure they fully understand those trouble spots.
