Certified Tutor
I am a Columbia student with a range of tutoring expertise. I have three years of experience tutoring math and chemistry through the AP level, but I am now studying Comparative Literature, so I can also tutor writing and other humanities subjects. I am also comfortable tutoring a variety of standardized tests. I received 99th percentile scores on the ACT, the SAT, and the SSAT, and 5s on 8 different AP tests (Calculus BC, Physics C: Mechanics, Physics C: E&M, Computer Science, Chemistry, US History, Spanish, and Music Theory).
I have taken math courses up to linear algebra and multivariable calculus, and I served as a tutor for math in high school, tutoring students through BC Calculus.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In the first session, I start by looking over a practice test (for test prep), or an essay or test (for academic tutoring) with the student. I'll help the student go over their mistakes, and use those mistakes to identify the areas that the student needs to work on the most. I will then help to develop a study plan with the student for those areas.
