What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
First, I like to get to know my student: where they're struggling, what they're passionate about, and what resources they're currently using. Getting to know a student helps me figure out how best to approach teaching them.
What is your teaching philosophy?
I think it's really important to be excited and enthusiastic about learning. I try to bring my own excitement to my tutoring sessions. I also believe in direct and clear communication and approachability to make the student as comfortable as possible when learning new material.
