Jessie: Orland Park tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of Florida State University (Go 'Noles). I obtained both my Bachelor's and Master's degree in Clothing, Textiles, and Merchandising. I have been teaching at the Art Institute of Dallas in the Fashion Design and Marketing and Management programs since January 2009.
I am incredibly passionate about helping individuals become life long learners, as I believe it's better to teach a person how to fish (so they can eat for a lifetime). I have always been involved with tutoring in one way or another throughout my adult life. I volunteered with the Norwegian Red Cross in Nairobi, Kenya, assisting Somali refugees with English comprehension. I also volunteered with America Reads, where I helped first graders improve their reading ability. While I was at FSU, I was a staff writer for the FSView, and also worked as a freelance writer with the Tallahassee Democrat.
