I graduated from Scarsdale High School in 2017, and am an incoming freshman to Vanderbilt???s School of Arts and Sciences. I plan on focusing my studies on applied math, economics and computer science. Since 8th grade, I have been a volunteer tutor at an elementary school. In my junior year I decided to begin my private tutoring career. By the end of my senior year, I had seven students, ranging from 7th to 11th grades, that I tutored at least once a week in math. Each student???s grade rose significantly when we worked together. My approach to tutoring involves developing a general problem solving methodology that can be applied to each problem type given to me by the student. Outside of tutoring I love to play a variety of sports. I was a varsity track and football athlete. I also started and led a basketball league for my grade that included over 100 people, which was more than half of the boys in my grade, by the end of my senior year. I am a staunch advocate for the idea that spending time exercising everyday helps allow students to focus better, both in the classroom and at home.
