Greetings! As a lifelong learner, I bring over 15 years of experience teaching, tutoring and developing educational programming. After earning my BA in International Relations from Stanford University, I found my passion in teaching a vast array of subjects, from ESL and French to World History, Political Science and Writing. My philosophy of teaching also extends to building self-esteem and confidence for every student. As a parent, I understand that these qualities are equally as important as building knowledge and critical thinking skills. My teaching methods encourage students to think outside the box and discover new paths of academic discovery.
After graduating from Stanford, I decided to continue traveling. After spending a year in France, I moved to South Korea and spent over 5 years in Seoul and Busan, teaching ESL and working as a curriculum designer and director of other ESL teachers. I also have a passion for music, and spent 6 months tutoring and singing jazz in Cairo, Egypt. The passion and love I have for other cultures is an important aspect I bring to teaching my students about world history and social science.
After having my son, I returned to the US and have held similar positions, as well as working in Corporate ESL and non-profit management. As a parent, I am a huge fan of healthy eating, and compiled a healthy food curriculum based off of my experiences coordinating an elementary summer school called "Growing Kids Who Eat Well"
In my free time, I love to garden and cook, and share these pleasures with my friends and family and our pets!
