I graduated from California State UniversityNorthridge with a degree in Theatre Arts and minors in English, Dance, and Japanese. I am currently finishing my M.F.A. in Creative Writing at California Institute of the Arts. I have worked in various writing labs and taught acting since I started pursuing higher education in 2008 as well as working in the literary department at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. I became a published poet as a young teen and have since gone on to have many other stories, poems, plays, and essays published. I greatly enjoy working with students to ignite a passion for communication and the power of language while getting to know them in the way best suited to their success. I believe that when a student embraces education, they embrace their fullest potential. When I'm not helping students learn to love English, I enjoy exploring Japanese culture, reading, testing video games, and hiking.
