I am currently an Adjunct Professor in the Integrated Reading and Writing Department at a Community College in Central Texas. I have also been employed part-time for 4 years as a tutor for Composition, ESL students, Integrated Reading and Writing, English, History, Government, test prep, and College Study Skills.

My passion is teaching and tutoring students from diverse backgrounds that want and need additional help to succeed and overcome disadvantages and obstacles they have faced in life. I have a strong desire to help students who may be struggling, but are committed to improving and becoming successful in their academic careers.

I have been practicing law for almost 20 years as both a private Attorney and as a Staff Attorney at several state agencies. I have been training and providing instruction to others, including investigators, licensees and other Attorneys for the majority of that time. I have also been the Continuing Education Instructor for the state agency where I am employed for the past five years.

I attended Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi, for the first two years of my B.A. program. My major was Pre-Law and Political Science and my minor was in History. I transferred to Magnolia Bible College to complete my B.A. in Religion.

I received my J.D. from the University of Texas in 1995. In 2012, I received my Master's Degree in U.S. History from Sam Houston State University.

I concluded one year of a Ph.D. Program in History at the University of Texas. I will complete my Doctorate in Education in February 2019.
