Certified Tutor

I started tutoring in high school when I spent a semester travelling to an elementary school for an after-school tutoring program. As a tutor, I was matched up with an elementary student to work with individually after school for an hour to an hour and a half twice a week. My senior year of high school I participated in a peer tutoring program within my high school, tutoring mostly math and physics. While in college I worked for the physics department as an adjunct instructor teaching lower level physics labs. I also took many classes in a STEM education program which provided me with a better knowledge of public school curriculum and invaluable time and experience actually teaching in classrooms. Through this program I had the opportunity to work one summer at a local science museum teaching week long camps and explaining floor exhibits, and one summer in a public high school math course helping teach the curriculum and manage the classroom. These experiences taught me a lot about different learning styles and teaching to all age groups.

I love learning, and I'm excited to continue helping others achieve their academic goals.
