My education comes from a variety of schools: Albion College in Michigan (BA, English), Seattle Pacific University (MS, Information Systems Technology) in Washington, and University of Washington (Certificate of TESOL, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).

My best education comes from working at Microsoft for 20 years. When you worked at Microsoft, you learned something new every day, be it technical, marketing, problem solving, or working with remarkably different people from all over the world.

I have tutored adults and children in ELL (both as volunteer work and for pay). My favorite subject to tutor is writing and reading. I enjoy analyzing writing with a student to help them understand the author's purpose, and how they can present this information for better grades. I edit literature in addition to tutoring.

I like to have fun teaching. I can be a bit goofy and like to laugh, but always get to the subject. I excel at asking students probing questions so they think through the problems the prose has presented.

Hobbies? I love classical music, attend opera, adore figure skating. But I love Pilates the most: it makes you focus on the core of your body and encourages meditation while strengthening your muscles.
