I recently graduated from the University of Michigan--Ann Arbor with highest distinction (summa cum laude) in Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics. I spent much of my senior year working on an honors thesis studying the relationship between campaign finance laws and redistributive economic policies in the developed democracies (awarded highest honors). Through this experience and my classes and extracurricular activities in college and high school, I've learned that the best path to knowledge comes through doing, failing, and doing again until one succeeds. Consequently, I use my tutoring sessions to allow students to do just that. I focus my teaching around practice problems and examples which make students learn by doing and which allow me to elucidate the key concepts involved in the problem. My goal is for my students to not only be able to solve a problem but to understand a broader subject.

I began tutoring while in high school. I worked for two years at my school's peer tutoring lab. In over 100 hours of tutoring, I advised students in Math (Pre-Algebra through Pre-Calculus), English, and Social Studies (AP Macro/Microeconomics, AP US/European History, AP US Government). In college, I tutored classmates in courses covering Philosophy, Economics, Political Science, Mathematics, and Statistics.

I am open to working with students and parents in designing instruction that works for them-- whether that be on an ongoing or one-off basis. Any resources, suggestions, and comments are welcome.
