I obtained my first Bachelor of Science in Business from East Coast Polytechnic Institute and am currently pursuing my second bachelor's degree in Psychology. As a first generation, non-traditional college student I am acutely aware of the challenges many students face on their road to self-actualization. For this reason, I am guided by a philosophy that acknowledges students in their entirety and take a holistic approach to promote student success. For the past two years, I have been working on campus as embedded peer support helping first and second year students navigate introductory courses (e.g. Introduction to Psychology and Introduction to Statistics for Behavioral Science). In this role I facilitate study groups, conduct one-on-one mentorship, and provide group and individual tutoring. Additionally, I have informally tutored and mentored students as a senior research assistant teaching research methodology and basic data science. While my background enables me to tutor several subjects, I am most passionate about assisting students with understanding psychological concepts and developing the self-efficacy and growth mindset to learn Statistics. In my spare time I like to read science fiction, stimulate my palate with yummy dishes, and play with my fur babies.
