My favorite subject to teach has always been reading. That would be because as a young child I didn't learn to read well. So my career has been devoted to helping students to read and understand what they are reading. My philosophy is "All students can Learn". Teachers are who get the students involved. Their creative and imaginative ways of teaching is what keeps the student focused. I also think humor brings a lot of interest into learning. There are so many ways to reach a child. You have to find out what makes each learner interested in what is being taught.
I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. As I attended college I was raising my three children and to think, I was a struggling student in the beginning. Now I'm proud to say I've touched many children's hearts by my love for reading.

My hobbies include quilting, working out, going on short road trips, but my best past time are my seven grandchildren. There's nothing better than being a grandmother. You get to spoil them all the time.
