Certified Tutor

I am a certified K-12 music teacher with a Bachelor of Arts in Music from The University of Texas and a Masters in Teaching from Bard College. As a professional multi-instrumentalist and singer, I have performed music since I was a young child and have taught music in and out of the classroom as well as in private lessons for the past 6 years.

I am currently providing lessons in Voice, Piano, Guitar, and Ukulele as well as Music Theory and Group Voice.

My Teaching Philosophy:

I truly believe that every child has musical potential and can learn to experience and express music deeply while receiving its many benefits.

I believe that every child regardless of his/her/their race, cultural background, gender identity, religious preference, class, or ability deserves to have the opportunities to achieve his/her/their full potential.

I believe that as a musician, I must strive to always improve my own artistry and musical learning so that I can provide the best instruction to my students, which is why I continue to make music and use it as a form of cathartic self-expression regularly.

I believe that effective education can only happen in an environment where students feel safe and have a personal relationship with the teacher. Therefore, I seek to create meaningful relationships with my students by giving positive reinforcements and getting to know their personalities and preferences.

I believe that humor is a necessary part of teaching. You can expect to laugh and feel a sense of ease and calm when we work together!

I am very passionate about helping all students achieve their goals through frequent communication of expectations and I look forward to working with you soon!
