As a recent English and music graduate from Vanderbilt University, I absolutely love about anything reading, writing, music, or literature-related. I want my students to feel ready to take on the world with the skills they learn with me.

Literature is so much more than simply books--it encapsulates the human experience. Writing is an incredibly essential skill to have, and while I know it is not everyone's favorite, the storytelling aspect can be extremely compelling to get students to recognize that writing can be fun! English is all about telling stories. My goal with teaching English is to help students gain an understanding of how relevant (no matter how irrelevant it might seem) English is to their daily lives. Literature does not have to be held up on a pedestal; it can be fun and engaging! With my experience, passion, and education, I believe I can truly help students find a passion of their own.

As for music lessons, I have been a trained singer for almost my entire life, starting intensive voice lessons at age 6. I studied jazz and commercial singing throughout college at Blair School of Music in addition to being the music director of my collegiate a cappella singing group. As the first Vanderbilt grad to receive a minor in Vocal Jazz, I worked with faculty to create the new program. I have experience teaching students in both basic and more advanced vocal training. I always ground my lessons in vocal physiology and music theory fundamentals. I am always looking into the newest voice techniques and breakthroughs. I absolutely love sharing what I am so passionate about with students who are eager to take their love for music to the next level!
