Hello! My name is Claire Davis and I am a current Junior at Loyola Marymount University studying Journalism and Political Science. I am currently at the top of my class at LMU with a 3.97 GPA, and I am involved in two honors societies- Order of Omega and Pi Sigma Alpha. I am a pre-law student that also enjoys being involved in student government, being president of my own organization, being a member of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Society, being a Student Ambassador, and being the Assistant VP of Facility Operations for Alpha Chi Omega. My experience teaching stems from my work as a full time nanny and tutor for two elementary/middle school aged kids. I worked with them daily for over a year and taught them English, History, Math, Science, and Social Studies. I have also acted as a peer and high school mentor where I have taught a variety of liberal arts related work, testing, and study skills and organization. I am excited and ready to teach anything for middle and elementary schoolers, as well as any of the following- or related to the following- topics for any age group (high school, college, adult learners): English, Political Science, Journalism, History (specifically WWII History, US History, World Religions, Women's History, and World History), Social Studies, Civics, Government, Reading Analysis, Writing Skills, SAT Reading, SAT Essay Section, and Study Skills and Organization. I believe that the most important part of education and tutoring is catering the subjects to meet the speed and interests of the specific student. I struggled in school up until high school and was at the bottom of my class in middle school, and now I am in the top of my class in college. I prioritize study skills, foundational knowledge, patience, and catering the information to the student's interests to encourage them to love learning. I look forward to working with you!
