I am a third-year student at the University of Minnesota, studying Industrial and Systems Engineering. Throughout the last 5 years, I have been involved in a variety of educational programs. I was a tutor for EMBARC Iowa, a program for refugee children to help strengthen their knowledge of both the English language and other school subjects. I also implemented a literacy program called PowerRead at my local elementary schools, with the ultimate goal of increasing reading proficiency to 100% of all third graders. Besides reading and English, I have a strong passion for math, including algebra, geometry, and calculus. I am extremely passionate about helping students both develop their knowledge in a subject and also their confidence in their learning abilities. Knowledge and confidence are crucial for a student's future success.
