I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

My teaching journey began in 1992, when I graduated from Western Carolina University with Bachelor's Degrees in Secondary English and Spanish K-12 Education. I taught elementary Spanish for 5 years while traveling between 3 schools, then changed directions to home-school our 4 children with my husband.
After an unexpected life change in 2021, I switched directions again to earn my TEFL degree, Level 5 Certification, from The TEFL Academy while tutoring in a local public elementary school, grades 1-5.
I enjoy tutoring a wide range of subjects, including Math, Science, Grammar, Literacy, ELA, Shakespeare, History, and Spanish. I love seeing the "A-HA!" moments with students when everything clicks and understanding sinks in! I want to continue to learn and grow so that I can help anyone who comes in my path.

My objective is to give courage and hope to each person I encounter, equipping them with any tools they may need to succeed.
