I have one year of high school science teaching experience. I was also a STEM educator for a children's science museum where I traveled to schools and provided lessons and demonstrations. I believe helping create a strong scientific foundation in young people is very important. Science helps with many things including critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity.
I received a bachelor's in geology from Purdue University. I am currently working towards a master's degree in environmental science at Nova Southeastern University. I tutor scientific subjects. I tutor at the middle school/early high school level and below. The subjects I include subjects such as biology, paleontology, and marine biology. I love to teach about the earth, space, and ancient life. I have strong backgrounds in those subjects, and I am passionate about learning more about them.
I believe it is important to always help students form ways to get answers to problems in the future. When I tutor, I want students to think about why the correct answer makes sense and begin thinking critically if not already.
In the future, I hope to be involved in scientific outreach outside the classroom, at locations like museums or parks. Tutoring provides great experience for that goal.
