Certified Tutor

I graduated from UC San Diego with a degree in Literature and Writing and a minor in Chinese Studies. While I was in college I tutored students in a low income community of San Diego called City Heights, teaching them reading and writing skills. Currently I'm readying myself to enter a master's program for my secondary education teaching certificate. I am motivated to teach others not just to pass a test, but to understand how concepts fit into a larger scope. I also believe that most students could benefit from a stronger social aspect in their educational development. I know how overwhelming school can be, especially when balancing so many other challenges of growing up. So, I would like to assist students in becoming more confident in their learning capabilities and in turn, more confident in themselves as human beings.
