Garry has worked with young people, parents, and families for well over 50 years. During this time, he has served as
Co-Director/Teacher for an alternative school, Group Leader and Education Coordinator for a youth treatment facility, created and taught an Underachieving Gifted Program for middle school students, ropes course leader, core classroom teacher, and teacher of the gifted. Garry has served as an intensive-in-home counselor and as a trainer in Family Centered Treatment. Garry is a trained Challenge Course Leader. Garry's hobbies are performing sports and family photography.
Garry has presented at many conferences around the country, some of which include: The National Dropout Prevention Conference, National Gifted Conference, and State Middle School and Gifted conferences. He served ten years as a staff member for Dr. Sylvia Rimm's Underachievement Institutes and has led school district staff development programs around the country. He is also an Adjunct Professor in Education at Converse College and Coker College, where he has taught education courses in working with the underachieving student and creating successful classroom environments. Garry presently is CEO of Team Quest for Success Consulting. I advise Families (Parents, Youth and Extended Family), Teachers, Coaches, and others in building quality relationship s as well as counsel them in strategies for Success.
Garry's educational background is an A.B. in Elementary Ed. and a Master's Degree in Gifted Education with a concentration in Counseling.
