I love helping students of all ages discover their full potential! My strengths are engagement, creativity, and encouragement. I enjoy thinking outside the box and challenging my students to grow their skills with confidence.
I hold a B.A. in German and Classics from Samford University, and an M.A. in German Literature from The University of Alabama, along with graduate work in English literature and theology. I have taught both German and English Composition at the university level and have 20+ years of tutoring experience in English, Literature, Writing, and Reading.
I work with elementary, middle school, high school, and college students, teaching reading fluency, reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and writing skills. I also guide students in creative writing, poetry analysis, literary analysis, Shakespeare, and research papers. I specialize in proofreading, editing, and helping students craft strong essays, including college application essays.
In addition to English and writing, I tutor history (including U.S. history, world history, and European history) and art history, helping students understand historical context, analyze primary sources, and make connections between historical events, culture, and literature.
I also enjoy working with English language learners (ESL/ELL) to build confidence in conversation, grammar, and academic writing. Whether we're exploring American literature, British literature, or world literature, preparing for AP Lang/Lit, diving into history or art history, or strengthening early reading skills, I meet students where they are and help them get where they want to be.
I also work with students who have ADHD, autism, and other learning differences, helping them build executive functioning skills, confidence, and effective study habits.
