When I met with the student tonight, we agreed to work on his religion homework that is due later this week. Of the seven listed,  he only needed to do three of them due to his absences. He completed the religion journal entries within the first 45 minutes, and, since the drop box did not yet exist for the assignment, he saved it to his computer. We then discussed his current classwork and assignments and worked on geometry until the end of the session.

Today the student worked on the SAT critical reading sections I assigned on Monday. We graded it, reviewed it, and went over our multiple choice strategies. We then went over the SAT Essay, how it's scored, and how to take on the topic step-by-step. He was good at coming up with relevant examples in a few different fields. For Monday, he's going to finish the test we're in the middle of and then move on to practice test 2.

The student and I went through some math problems. Then she worked through an entire reading test, while I timed her. I prompted her to mark the passages while she read and to mark questions she was unsure of, even after she answered them. When she finished and had seven minutes left, I prompted her to go back and look over the passage she said was the hardest.

We discussed the Lewis dot structure, calculating molar mass, bonding principles, and balancing equations.
