Tutoring review by Nicole in Iowa
During our session, we focused mostly on integers. I went over the student's homework, which included multiplying and dividing integers. She feels good with identifying the correct signs to go with the answers when solving those problems. We also reviewed more of subtracting integers since those require more steps than adding, multiplying and dividing integers. We made sure to utilize the K.C.C. (keep-change-change) for subtracting integers. We then stepped it up and worked on solving equations (adding and subtracting) with 3-4 integers at a time. She handled these pretty well, and just had to make sure to check her work and the sign because it's easy to miss with solving those equations. Overall, she felt even more comfortable with integers. I left her with some practice sheets for subtracting, multiplying, and adding/subtracting 3-4 integers. I will check to see how she did next week.

The student has an exam tomorrow, and she needed to review some key concepts, including solving trig functions and finding the domain, sine and cosine graphing application problems, and the ambiguous case. I provided several examples, and we were able to solve some homework questions. After the session, I have provided her the links of the answer keys of the examples we discussed.

We reviewed the student's classwork and homework from both yesterday and today. We reviewed arithmetic and geometric sequences, paying attention to explicit and recursive functions. We worked on the homework. She was a bit unsure about it at the beginning, but she quickly caught on. We also worked on what she was supposed to have done in class today, solving exponential equations, going over the classwork and homework for that also.

Tutoring review by Alexander in Iowa
We reviewed the student's most recent quiz, focusing on the errors made. The section she struggled with most was on simplifying polynomial fractions, so we devoted a sizable amount of time to reviewing those. She also is proficient in factoring, but sometimes leaves the factoring incomplete. There's progress in that area, but she still could use additional practice. After correcting the quiz, we worked on polynomial word problems, which she proved to be able to solve in all 3 ways (factoring, completing the square, and the quadratic formula).

We worked on long division and synthetic division. We did quite of bit of long division practice. The student mostly gets it, but does frequently make minor errors. I told her to look up the rational root theorem for help in the rest of her homework on factoring.
