The student and I worked on his online physics class. We learned about position vs. time graphs, velocity vs. time graphs, and acceleration.

The student and I continued working on his speed for the reading part of the ACT. We also are reviewing the math sections.

The student and I went over about 10 math problems from her practice PSAT book. We went over the answers for all of them but only did the ones she got wrong or didn't understand together. Then we took a stab at a practice PSAT from the test prep website, focusing mainly on the math problems. We worked more on complex algebraic word problems and geometry, which she had the most trouble with. For next week, I asked her to complete the verbal sections so we could go over that.

The student worked through her homework, solving for unknown angles and working out proofs. We also looked over her most recent test and identified topics needing greater clarification.

We covered the basics of the ISEE structure, topics, and her academic strengths and areas for improvement.

This was my last day with the student, and we focused mainly on spelling and math. For spelling, this week's test was all about "ph" and "f" words. She did very well with spelling words such as "graph," but she had a harder time with "nephew" and she often switched around "f" and "ph" for the words that she didn't know. For these words we, wrote them down and I had her say them out loud as she read them to me. Because the "f" and "ph" sound similar and she does a good job listening to the sounds in a word when writing them down, she just needs to memorize the ones that have an "f" or a "ph." We also worked on math, specifically time adding numbers. She feels very confident with adding numbers.
