Today we covered quadratic functions and the various forms they may be expressed. We analyzed the usefulness of each, then went over the methods that would be used to find the principal components of the graph from each form of the equation. The exercise we finished it off with required the use of these concepts to rule out expressions as being distinct from a given abstract parabola graph. The student appreciated the strengths and differences between each form of the equation as we worked through each section.

Today was our final chance to work on the current section before all of the work was due. We got through most of it, and what was left was entirely review. I was impressed by the student's performance today; she did much better than she did during our previous sessions. Radicals were initially very difficult, but she seems to have finally grasped them.

The student read her book with a lot of focus. There were some words she had to sound out, but other than that she read with fluency. She worked on her spelling words. She did very well with her spelling words. She did a nice job on her math, too.

We went over net force problems and how to decompose a vector into the horizontal and vertical components so that we can sum forces in those directions. The student seems to be understanding a lot.

The student wanted to work on her homework problems that session. We mainly worked on problems involving pressure and pressure conversion.

The student and I had a good session today. He pushed through to review two full reading passages. He had forgotten some of the smaller strategies for the reading, but remembered them once we went through a few question sets together. I'm looking forward to seeing him for our last review session next week.
