Tutoring review by Ramsey in Westerville, OH
He had a final exam that we went over. His assignment was to correct all of the problems that he missed and explain why he missed them. We went over all of the essentials concepts of ratios and proportions and hopefully the extra practice we did resonated with him. It seems as if his major growth area is working under pressure because he understands the concepts but has a hard time solving with time constraints.

Tutoring review by Sara in Westerville, OH
This session, we worked mainly on the new material in class, which dealt with trigonometric functions on the unit circle. This involved finding sine, cosine, tangent, cosecant, secant, and cotangent angles. We also went over what it means for a trig function to be even (cosine, secant) and what it means for a trig function to be odd (sine, cosecant, tangent, cotangent). The student picked up on this material pretty quickly and did a very good job completing the homework assignment. After we finished this, we also went over all of the old material from this chapter in order to prepare for the quiz before spring break. I was impressed by how well the student remembered all the past sections! And I think he is definitely ready for that upcoming quiz.

Tutoring review by Kate in Westerville, OH
Today we reviewed the student's lab on polarity and solubility of solutions. We went over how to draw chemical compounds and determine their polarities. We particularly struggled with how to draw Phenyl Salicylate and calculate its polarity since it was a much bigger compound than the rest. With encouragement, she could clearly draw the carbon structures and see where hydrogens would bond. I didn't leave practice since she would have classes and other homework, but I encouraged her to talk to her teacher about how to draw large compounds like Phenyl Salicylate in the future. Overall the session went very smoothly and it was a pleasure working with her.

The student completed his homework during our tutoring session with guidance from me. For homework, he is to write down his assignments in his school planner every day and when he completes an assignment, he must put a checkmark next to it.

Tutoring review by Amber in Westerville, OH
Today, we worked mostly on exponent rules and solving equations where x is in the exponent. We then worked on a new section of Chemistry, discussing the difference between mixtures and pure substances as well as compounds and elements. After talking about the differences and using diagrams to visualize each idea, the student understood the concepts.

Tutoring review by Douglas in Westerville, OH
We are currently working with Algebraic equations, and the student gradually understanding. He is gradually becoming more confident with the material though. I will leave him with around 30-50 questions more on Algebraic equations.
