What is your teaching philosophy?

I use a student-centered approach to learning. This is also known as learner-centered education, which broadly encompasses methods of teaching that shift the focus of instruction from the teacher to the student.

I would keep a student's attention by designing a learning environment that is emotionally as well as educationally entertaining.

I would focus on the individual skill or concept.

How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?

I would recommend additional reading material and discuss with the learner the topics that are in the book, journal article, or internet article.

The most effective teaching strategy is to understand the individual learning style.

How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?

I would make sure that the material is entertaining and educationally stimulating.

I would discuss the material with the student.

How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?

Based on the student's progress, I would design a lesson plan that gradually increases in difficulty with their broadened understanding of the material.

I will discuss the student's concerns about the material as a way to understand and evaluate their individual needs.

How do you adapt your tutoring to the student's needs?

I would understand their unique type of learning style: kinetic, visual, or auditory.

I use various types of material such as visual aids, online presentations, and additional reading assignments.
