I have a BA from the Evergreen State College and a Masters of Education from San Diego State University. I've tutored students in math, reading, SAT prep, and computer science. Currently, I tutor in Algebra, pre-Algebra, Algebra II. My favorite subject to tutor is Algebra, because I enjoy sharing my love of puzzles - that's all algebra is in my opinion.
When I tutor, I give students room to discover the path to their own understanding of a topic or concept. I'm a "guide on the side."
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy hiking, hearing live music, scoring great finds at thrift stores, and playing guitar.

I love to share the experience of learning with other people. I believe our minds are miraculous. Learning exercises the mind, as does play. When I'm not learning, I'm solving puzzles (typically of the crossword variety).
