I am a freelance writer with over seventy publications in playwriting, creative nonfiction, and journalism. I have over ten years of teaching experience at both the high school and college levels. As a faculty member of a high school English Department, I taught critical reading, creative and scholarly writing, and literature. I was also an Adjunct Professor in both the English and Academic Literacy Departments at the Community College of Baltimore County. I not only teach and write professionally, I'm also an editor for literary magazines and judge written and oral language arts contests, including Poetry Out Loud competitions. One of my greatest joys in teaching is that moment a student discovers his or her voice--when he or she knows exactly what to say about a subject and how to say it. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for writing, reading, and public speaking.
