I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology from the University of Cape Coast. I also did my Post-Baccalaureate education in Pre-Health Studies at Central Connecticut State University. For a career, I am currently in pursuit of a medical profession, with the end goal of becoming a travelling physician- bringing healthcare to deprived communities across the globe is one of my many drives.
I have worked with students from different levels, but mostly high school through college.
Tutoring has been a major part of my educational training. Right from the onset, I embraced the philosophy that being able to teach others what has been taught is the best way to demonstrate one's understanding of the material. So, I made it a point to offer my assistance whenever I was called upon, either officially or as a gesture. And I really enjoy doing it.
My tutoring subjects include Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology, with Mathematics and Chemistry as my favourites primarily because I enjoy challenging myself to do better. I also find that a strong understanding of the principles of these subjects usually serves as a catalyst to drive basic understanding of other subjects.
As a tutor, I believe that no subject is too difficult to learn, especially with appropriate effort. It all begins with breaking down complex concepts into blocks and units that can be easily grasped , relating them to everyday life activities, using appropriate tools to shed more light, connecting the dots, and applying them to solve simple and complex problem. And finally, practice makes permanent. In this process, the duty of the student is as important as that of the tutor.
I have other interests as well. I believe in giving back my time to my community, so I like to volunteer outside of my regular schedule. I am a musician, and I enjoy all things music and concerts, especially jazz. I enjoy time spent at the beach and like to travel and experience different cultures.
