Hello! I am Jessica, an educator dedicated to the teaching profession and to instilling a love of literature in young people. I am passionate and focused on the intersection of social justice and education. I graduated with honors from the University of Pittsburgh with degrees in English Literature and Urban Studies with a focus on Urban Schooling. I am currently a 7th and 8th grade Social Studies and English Teacher at an Elementary School in Kensington. My goal is to get my students to love to read and write as much as I do and to find the right texts for them, the ones they love the most. Learning and achievement becomes so much easier when there is a sense of true joy-- I aim for that joy with all of my students.

Outside of work I am an avid reader and a Bullet Journaler. I love to cook and watch TV, I enjoy going to the gym and singing Karaoke with my friends. I love Musical Theater, Harry Potter, and the city of Philadelphia.
