Award-winning author Amanda Faith Litfin may have been raised in Dayton, but her heart and home is in the South. With a lifelong love of teaching and writing, she had plenty of encouragement from teachers and friends along the way. Loving a good puzzle has always been a fascination, and teaching gives her the outlet to put all the pieces together.

Being adventurous and always trying new things, it wasn't long before she found her way to Outschool to explore, encourage, and teach students to be successful.

Her current adventure working as a high school Media Specialist (after being a high school and college English professor for over 20 years), writing, and doing paranormal investigations. None of this slows her down from having a great time with a plethora of hobbies like crafting, reading, writing, and hiking. Her published credits include short stories, poetry, several journal articles, her doctoral dissertation, and her award-winning book Strength of Spirit. She currently has SIX degrees, so there is a major passion for learning. Who knows what adventures may be down the road. Her current degrees are: Surgical Technology, BA in English, M.Ed. in English Education, Ed.D. in Teacher Leadership, Masters Certificate in Media Specialist, and TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language).

She believe that everyone can learn if given the right tools and atmosphere. Having experience in both the classroom and other online teaching platforms gives her a diversified toolbox to use various techniques to adapt to various student learning needs. She has also worked in other fields, bringing real-world knowledge into the academic environment.

Having fun and incorporating humor into the classroom is important. No one want to sit in class bored out of their minds. Being animated and energetic is essential for student success. Patience, understanding, and open mindedness is also the basic platform of her teaching philosophy.
