I am a graduate of Florida International University. I received my Bachelor in Sociology and I am currently pursuing a Master's in Social Work. I have always enjoyed my classes in Literature while growing up and spent much of my free time writing as a hobby. Since I did well in my reading and writing courses, I would offer to help my friends with their papers when they were struggling. I enjoyed reading the papers my peers wrote and providing suggestions as to how to improve them so that they could get the grade that they aspired towards. I have also made friends from different countries since I spent part of my leisure time on a peer support platform geared towards mental health services. I would also help some of my friends that I made on that platform with their assignments. I am passionate about helping students since I grew up feeling like I needed support for my education. I grew up as an immigrant in the United States and know how to speak both English and Spanish. I think I can be of aid to those who are also struggling to write in English. I am experienced with helping tutor in all types of courses and various grade levels such as middle school and high school. I also have experience with AP and IB courses. As a future Social Worker and someone with substantial experience in literature, I am passionate about working with students from all types of backgrounds and help bring out the potential I know they have in their writing. I most enjoy helping students pass their standardized tests, analyzing a passage from a book or poem, or helping with any lengthy paper that they must submit. I would describe my teaching style as encouraging while also being detailed in my explanations as to how to improve your writing. Outside of academia my hobbies include gaming, playing board games, going to the library to read a book, and going outside for walks in a park. I like to emphasize the importance of self-care in my life and promote the same to those around me.
