I am finishing my PhD in experimental physics at Loughborough, I also completed my masters here in 2020 where I achieved a 1st. Alongside my PhD I enjoy teaching undergraduate students, this has enabled me to become a competent teacher and given me valuable lessons in how to interact with different students to get the best out of them. It is important for me to build the students' confidence so that they can take ownership of their own growth and that they feel comfortable asking questions so we can work together to reach their goals. I have found that empathetic communication key to this work, particularly in the lead up to exams where some students can find the workload highly stressful. This is even more true for A level and GCSE students that I am available to tutor. Currently, I am approved to tutor A level/GCSE physics and maths along with biology and chemistry at GCSE.
