I am a physician by training, currently working as the Lead Medical Science Liaison for a global biotech company specializing in oncology clinical trials. Despite growing up in Ghana, West Africa, I pursued my medical education at the University of Havana in Cuba. Graduating in the top 5% of my class with a GPA of 3.80, I overcame the initial challenge of not knowing a single Spanish word upon arrival in Cuba. I was determined to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor, so I immersed myself in the language and became fluent within six months before starting medical school which is taught in Spanish.

My passion for teaching emerged during my time in medical school, where I excelled as a Teaching Assistant, supporting students in Anatomy, Physiology, and Pharmacology. I provided one-on-one tutoring and facilitated large group sessions as well, leveraging innovative teaching methods to simplify complex medical concepts. Drawing inspiration from my parents, both seasoned educators with over 40 years of teaching experience, I am deeply committed to simplifying medical concepts and empowering my students to succeed.
Aside medical concepts, I love teaching Spanish. I feel it is a very beautiful language which is easy to learn if taught the right way.
