I graduated from Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, MD with an Associate of Science degree in Nursing in 2017 and am currently pursuing my RN-BSN degree online. A huge part of my profession centers around patient/family education and imparting knowledge effectively. To be an effective educator, the first thing I must do is assess an individual's learning style. By this I mean, does the individual learn "better" by reading information themselves, are they oral learners, or is it easier for them to retain information by demonstration, etc., because everyone's learning processes are different. This is why I believe that one on one instruction can be so crucial for those who may find it difficult in a more formal academic setting where you have 20-30 students, with one teacher, all being taught the same way. In fact, I follow this philosphy myself in homeschooling my own child. I am qualified to tutor a broad range of subjects such as biology and other sciences, world histories and other social sciences. As a professional and practicing clinical RN, I am qualified to tutor in a broad range of nursing related subjects and also in NCLEX prep.
