As a graduate of Creighton University with degrees in Spanish and Psychology, and currently a Doctoral candidate in Occupational Therapy at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, my academic and professional journey has been driven by a profound commitment to enhancing access to quality healthcare and education. This commitment is deeply rooted in my diverse experiences, including my work as a bilingual health assistant, my time teaching in Nicaragua, and my immersive language studies in Ecuador. Living in Ecuador for six months allowed me to immerse myself in the Spanish language and culture, further honing my fluency and deepening my cultural understanding. This experience was instrumental in developing my ability to connect with Spanish-speaking individuals on a more profound level, which has been a significant asset in my current role as a health assistant and tutor. Similarly, my time in Nicaragua, where I taught children aged 8-14, enabled me to apply my educational background and passion for teaching in a meaningful way, and helped me gain experience as an educator. I began my education career as an elementary education major, therefore, I have years of experience with the education system and teaching. I am passionate about teaching Spanish, but I am also available for tutoring in Psychology, where I have taken over 45 credit hours of various psychology courses and topics.
