I'm a recent graduate of the University of Indianapolis, where I earned my bachelor's degree in professional writing with a minor in history.
I've always been passionate about history, social studies, English language arts, and the humanities, especially when I get to help others understand those subjects more clearly. History and English are my favorite subjects because studying the past, literature, and the humanities helps me understand current events and the modern world.
I'm of the opinion that any subject can engage any student if they can feel a personal connection or understanding of it. It just takes the right teacher to lead them to that clearer understanding. In the future, I plan to work in the exhibits department of a history institution like the Field Museum in Chicago or the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. so I can keep teaching people about history and their place in it.
