I am excited to be given the opportunity to work with your agency and the people who may be sent through you to me. For me, education is extremely important. I had to quit high school at 16 and was not allowed to graduate even after fulfilling all my school's mandates. I received my GED at 17. It took me 22 years of taking classes whenever I could, but I graduated with my BSW from Lamar University in 2005. I then went on to earn my master's degree from Liberty University.

This is the encouragement and determination I try to bring to those I teach, encounter, and work withso they can live their best life.

Hobbies

I am always working on something; however, crocheting is always my go-to activity. When my girls were young, I always took a project with me to their practices, and now you can find crochet hooks in my purse, truck, on the couch, in the couch, and in every room of my house. Before I retired, I was the LCDC (Substance Abuse Counselor) in a women's treatment facility, and during that time, I advocated to be allowed to teach them to crochet. Over 300 women learned the skill and then took it home with them. These are my interests—people.
