I am a Chinese language learner who first fell in love with the language during high school and have been immersed in it ever since. My passion for Chinese grew beyond the classroom. I've lived with a Chinese roommate, traveled to Taiwan for cultural and language immersion, and was honored as a finalist in the 2024 National Chinese Speech Contest. These experiences deepened both my fluency and my appreciation for Chinese culture, which I bring into every tutoring session. I specialize in working with beginning learners, drawing on my own journey of learning Chinese from scratch. I have experience tutoring middle school students in Chinese 1, where I focus on building confidence through engaging lessons that blend creativity with structure. I love to use songs and stories to make the language come alive in meaningful, memorable ways. I aim to make language learning joyful, not intimidating, by creating a relaxed space where mistakes are part of the process and curiosity leads the way. I will be continuing my Chinese studies at Scripps College, where I plan to major in Chinese language and culture.
