Or perhaps you would enjoy it better if you studied in a virtual classroom by taking a Washington DC GMAT prep course. Either way, there is a lot to gain and a lot of knowledge to be learned. Varsity Tutors can help you with either of the above options.
What can I learn with Washington DC GMAT prep?
There are four sections on the GMAT. All of these sections are crucial, as business schools such as BAU International University look at all four of them when determining whether they should give more consideration to a particular application. There are three configurations for these four sections in which you can take the test. This overview will follow the third possible test-day configuration, so we will start with Quantitative Reasoning.
In the Quantitative Reasoning section, you will face multiple-choice questions. You will have 62 minutes to answer 31 questions. You will be presented with problems that will challenge your thinking and reasoning skills. It will be up to you to analyze the problems and determine whether there is enough data provided to answer the questions or come up with solutions. You will have to figure out which is the best answer from the possible answers presented to you.
In the Verbal Reasoning section, you will again be presented with multiple-choice questions. You will have 65 minutes to answer 36 questions. This section will test your critical thinking skills, as well as your skills when it comes to comprehending and understanding written material. You will be presented with passages. You will have to understand the arguments that are being made in those passages. You will also have to evaluate those arguments and respond to them, as well as formulate your own arguments. You may also face sentence correction problems, in which you will have to identify proper grammar and sentence structure. You may also have to identify the correct answers that will make certain sentences make more sense.
Next is the Integrated Reasoning section. In this section, you will have a total of half an hour to answer 12 questions. You will be presented with multiple sources of information. This may come in the form of graphics, text, tables, and more. You will be required to synthesize all of this data. You will have to combine all of the information and answer problems based on it. There will be a few types of questions in this section. Some questions will give you tables and charts and require you to interpret the information that is presented in them. Some questions will test your ability to process more than one piece of information simultaneously, such as by evaluating trade-offs.
Finally, there is the Analytical Writing Assessment. You will have to work quickly here, as you will only have half an hour to complete your essay. This section will test your ability to write critically and clearly. You will have to evaluate arguments and statements that will be presented to you, and you will have to fully comprehend them before starting to plan a response. This section will test your ability to formulate a proper response. Your response should be backed up with supporting data or evidence. You will have to organize your ideas and present them in a structured manner that is easy to comprehend. You will also be evaluated on your comprehension level and skills in written English. This is a computer-based exam, and there will be both a system that will evaluate your essay and a human evaluator.
What kinds of Washington DC GMAT prep are available?
When it comes to preparing for the GMAT exam, you have two options. You can sign up for private tutoring, or you can sign up for a Washington DC GMAT prep class. Both options have their pros and cons, and some students may find that they prefer one option over the others. Some students may even find that a combination of the two is the best way to properly prepare for the GMAT exam.
If you opt for studying with a Washington DC prep tutor, you will have the benefit of studying one-on-one with an educated mentor who can study with you at your own pace. You do not have to worry about keeping up with other students. You will have all the free time that you need to ask any questions that come to mind. If you want to focus on a particular topic, you can do so with your private educator. For example, you may find that you need more help with preparing for the Quantitative Reasoning section. Other students may find that they need special help with preparing for the Analytical Writing Assessment. Private teachers can get to know you and prepare study sessions that fit your study style.
You can also opt for GMAT prep courses. These are virtual courses that take place over the course of either two or four weeks. You study online with other students and your instructor, just as you would in a normal course. You can interact with other students and discuss issues with them, which can help you retain the information better.

Every person is different, so I tailor my tutoring sessions to the strengths, weaknesses, and goals of each individual student. I believe that honesty and good communication are the keys to building the trust necessary to optimize our time together.... I would begin by discussing the student's goals and getting as clear a picture as possible of their unique situation so that I can determine how best to be of use in achieving those goals. Then we would get to work and take it from there.
