We've had the BEST experience with VT! Our tutor has helped my middle schoolers math grades come up from a D to an A for our 8th grader and from a D to a B for my 6th grader. I'm beyond pleased with how she connected with my boys.

Tutoring review by Philip in Renton, WA
We covered percentages, fractions, and decimals, and techniques for converting from one to the other. The student needed help the most with decimals, although she seemed to grow more comfortable with them as the session continued. I was impressed by her ability to remain focused on the task.

Tutoring review by Daniel in Renton, WA
We reviewed all of the topics from the last several weeks. We practiced word problems, inequalities, rational functions, and domain and range problems. The student can do the problems with a few reminders. After we walk through a problem type, he can do similar problems for the rest of our session, but sometimes can't remember the next week. We will continue to address this issue and work on ways to help him remember the material.

Tutoring review by Abby in Renton, WA
We completed/reviewed her study guide for her quiz covering ratios and proportions. The student seemed to be understanding these concepts fairly well but has the tendency to not label her answers - which can be daunting on her grade. I left her with extra problems to complete on her own time before we meet tomorrow on the condition she must label or risk being tasked with additional work to complete. She was very energetic today and was really understanding the material, conceptually.

We reviewed for the student's Algebra 2 final, covering all five chapters that will be on the test. Overall, he seems to have a good understanding of most of the material. It was also great to see him accept my idea of completing the entire 1.5 hour session instead of stopping at 1 hr as we had planned. I'm glad he is opening up to the idea of putting in the time necessary to improve in this subject.
