Susan has an undergraduate degree in English and a Master's degree in journalism and worked in book, magazine, and newspaper publishing as a writer and editor before becoming a college English instructor. She now specializes in teaching students to write composition, read and interpret literature, think critically, prepare for public speaking engagements, and conduct research in the social sciences. She also teaches English as a second language to both young and adult learners.
