Today the student and I discussed genetics, such as Mendel's Principles of Dominance, Segregation and Independent Assortment, Punnett Squares, the difference between homozygous and heterozygous alleles, incomplete dominance, codominance, multiple alleles, and nondisjunction. We spent some extra time on nondisjunction and the difference between nondisjunction in meiosis I and II. She was very enthusiastic about learning the material! Overall the session was successful!

We reviewed factoring trinomials of the form ax^2+bx+c. We also talked about unit conversions: how to convert units within the same system of measurement, how to convert units that were areas or volumes, and how to convert units between different systems of measurements. The student will work on some review for systems of equations and conversion problems.

We covered concepts involving factorization and the use of the FOIL method to simplify polynomial expressions. This included parabolics and higher order polynomials. We covered in detail how to factor, and worked many problems for understanding. We will still need more practice to fully understand the methodology.
